Pionless effective field theory evaluation of nuclear polarizability in muonic deuterium

Abstract We calculate the longitudinal structure function of deuteron up through next-to-next-to-leading order in framework pionless effective field theory. use these results to compute two-photon polarizability contribution Lamb shift muonic deuterium, which can be utilized extract nuclear charge radius deuteron. present analytical expressions order-by-order for relevant transition matrix elements and function, we give numerical corresponding contributions shift. also discuss impact relativistic other higher-order effects. find agreement with previous calculations explain accuracy our calculation.
